The most common normal localized reactions include: Redness (erythema) at the site Swelling or a small raised bump Tenderness or slight pain Mild warmth Itching Small bruising These reactions are typically: Localized to a small area (12 inches in diameter) Mild to moderate in intensity Resolve within 2448 hours Not progressively worsening Many patients will experience some degree of redness or swelling during the first week or two of therapy as the immune system acclimates
