To fill these gaps in the future, objective neurobiomarkers should have been used, the duration of the study period should have been extended, rigorous sham-controlled comparisons should have been applied, and patient-specific factors (skin properties, disease severity, and usability) should be considered to understand the therapeutic potential of microneedles in diabetic neuropathy
